The story behind this Leopard wall art.
“In 2024, I took a day trip to Bridlington, up on the East Yorkshire coast, to visit their annual kite festival. For me, it’s the kind of event that feels quite magical; there’s something going on all around you, from small-scale demonstrations to giant whales diving through the air.
“As I was watching, I caught a flash of green and purple, and those colours imprinted on my brain. I can’t remember the exact style or pattern of the kite, but I remember loving that colour combination. So, I let those colours inspire my next painting.
“Around the same time, I’d just adopted my cat, Mila — a tiny cat with a very big personality. Her natural curiosity, independence and quiet confidence found their way into the painting, steering my original idea towards a bold, contemporary take on a big cat.
“”And that’s how Colourful Leopard came to life: a painting inspired by a fleeting flash of colour at a seaside kite festival, with a little bit of Mila’s personality thrown in for good measure.
