“I love finding beauty in overlooked subjects, especially the animals and bits of nature we pass every day but rarely stop to appreciate.
“Back in 2022, I had the immense joy of rescuing three ex-battery chickens. We named them Barney, Brisket and Mr. Pirate-Shippy – a name my nephew came up with. (Mr. Pirate-Shippy was later renamed Bridget, as it was slightly easier to say!)
“Bridget had a fantastic personality: curious, confident and charming – especially when food was involved. I loved giving the chickens new foods to try, and watermelon quickly became one of Bridget’s favourites. Watching her happily tuck into those little chunks of watermelon was one of those wonderful moments that’ll stay with me.
“For me, this painting is a celebration of character, giving Bridget the colourful, expressive treatment she deserves.”

Then, orders are carefully packaged in a reinforced envelope and dispatched by 1st Class Royal Mail on Friday.
