“I created this painting during my ‘realistic double-exposure’ phase in 2021. I find something beautiful happens when merging two opposing images – and the subjects here are stark opposites. The wild, dead sheep skull contrasts beautifully with the pampered, flowering bonsai tree. I took a lot of care and attention when mixing the colours for this painting, as I wanted to instil a sense of calm and unity in Animal Skull With Flowers.”
